Adopt an Intern (AAI) is a not-for-profit company specialising in the facilitation of paid internships for unemployed and underemployed graduates. We work with employers from all sectors across the UK, and have placed nearly 1400 graduates into internship opportunities covering a range from Supply Chain Logistics to Glass Blowing.
We have two groups of customers: employers and applicants. This dual-focus requires a careful balance in the use of our resources, which we achieve by listening closely to the needs of those customers and responding in an agile and flexible manner. We are currently at an important point in the company’s lifecycle where we need to leverage our success to date and build a sustainable platform for growth.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative graduate to apply their skills in a multidimensional role, with key deliverables which will underpin the organisation’s development strategy. For some, Business Development is another name for Sales. At AAI all staff are responsible for developing our business and engaging our two groups of customers.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will get to know what we do and how we do it by being involved in the whole range of our activities, growing in confidence as you work through a range of tasks that will include the following:
• Using and refining our CRM systems (online and off) to ensure a high level of customer service and engagement is maintained throughout
all our activities
• Supporting the sales process by assisting in the creation of leads, proposals and presentations
• Identifying opportunities for business growth
• Contributing to the creation of promotional material designed to attract applications to our employers' opportunities
• Assisting with the delivery of vital operational processes, general business admin, and participating in team, client and board meetings (occasional minute-taking)
• Contributing to the creation of new content for the website, social media, and other communication outlets in line with the marketing strategy
• Attending business events and acting as an Ambassador for AAI
• Disseminating promotional content to all stakeholders through various channels
• Uploading content to a variety of web platforms
• Handling graduate enquiries and liaising with employers
• Seeking feedback from employers and graduates, and securing testimonials for promotional use

You may apply whatever your degree background as long as you can prove you have the skills to do the job. A business management or marketing background would be useful. You’ll be analysing current factors and contributing ideas to our strategy for business growth.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, have a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail. We’re looking for a confident written and verbal communicator. You'll enjoy speaking to people in person and on the phone, and you will be a good listener, able to gather information from others to inform and underpin your arguments.
You should be able to demonstrate an interest in the workings of the backend of social media sites and websites, and experience in working with these to deliver customer engagement would be particularly advantageous.
Candidates must have the ability to manage their own workload and respond quickly to a range of differing demands. You must be happy to work from home on your own, as well as with other members of the team at regular face-to-face meet-ups. You will need access to your own computer and mobile phone. Some flexibility around working hours would be advantageous, as occasional evening attendance at events will be expected.
