£8.25 per hour 
Part-time, 20 hours per week for 12 weeks

An innovative and versatile designer and a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Sylvia J Kerr has been making jewellery since 1989. 
 
Although Sylvia’s core work has been commissions in gold and platinum, her exciting new SJK equestrian and country collection, brings together her 26 years in the industry and her lifelong passion for all things equine or furry. 
 
All Sylvia Kerr jewellery is worked and lovingly hand finished using traditional jewellery making techniques in the heart of Angus, Scotland’s picturesque agricultural heartland.

This high end jewellery couture business now requires a motivated and enthusiastic graduate to join them, assisting in the process of building and promoting a brand around the designer and creator, Sylvia Kerr, which is aimed at 2 key markets: 
 
•  The equestrian market 
• The country living/lifestyle market 
 
The role 
The key functions of the role will be based around social media and elements of blogging. The intern will be involved in the following: 
 
• Daily postings through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram 
• Helping to create and build the image of the product and the business. 
• Raising the profile of the Sylvia Kerr, the brand, through collecting positive and consistent profiles. 
• Helping research appropriate markets and publications that suit the brand and the market. 
• Researching suitable brand ambassadors and source contact details for the business to approach. 
• Reflecting the strong interest in the products in the London/Home Counties regions there will be a September launch event in London so the intern will be involved in some of the preparatory work on this event 
• Any other tasks as required by the business 
 
*This position is home-based with weekly meetings which could be held in Scotland's central belt for those not living in Angus. 
 
This role is on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing Adopt an Intern as a freelance consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you have not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and should therefore not apply for this role.  
 
Requirements 
The ideal intern will be educated to degree level with a background in media, business development and/or digital marketing. You will have excellent IT skills, with previous experience of using a CMS system to update web content. You will be highly organised, able to manage your own time and work on your own initiative. An ability to communicate the brand tone in a way that always reflects its core values is essential for this role. You should be a creative thinker with a strong attention to detail. 
You should be a confident communicator with outstanding written skills. A candidate with previous copywriting skills or experience of delivering a practical digital marketing plan would be highly favourable. A degree of flexibility and willingness to work non-traditional hours is required.
