Location: central Edinburgh

£8.25 per hour
Part-time: 16 hours per week for 15 weeks on freelance basis
Mon - Fri 2 days per week, flexible hours to be arranged
Starting date: late April

About the Company
Sally-Ann Provan Millinery is an award-nominated contemporary millinery and accessories fashion brand focussed on high quality handmade hats and accessories. We use luxury and sustainable materials, and a balance of traditional techniques and new technologies, and are looking to expand into the luxury international market.
The brand is stocked in a few selected boutiques in Scotland and London, and the director has shown the brand internationally. The company has been featured in various fashion and bridal magazines and featured in 3 books.

The Role
At Sally-Ann Provan Millinery we are looking for a bright enthusiastic, self-motivated creative graduate. Your key role would be to work with the director to create and implement a brand PR strategy.

Key Tasks will include:
Creating a contact list for fashion and editorial journalists, stylists and relevant contacts through the UK and beyond.
To have input into social media output, in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest etc.
To grow our existing social media network organically.
To assistant the director in fashion and product shoots.
To create press releases to be sent out to the contacts and to follow up as necessary; building relationships with relevant contacts.
Identifying new market and customer opportunities.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should have be educated to degree level with experience or a background in: Advertising and Public Relations, or Fashion and Business, or Fashion Marketing and Retailing, or Fashion Management, or Fashion Branding, Business Marketing, or equivalent.

The graduate should have experience of email marketing, Excel, MS Office,
Wordpress and other content editing software.

This is a fabulous opportunity for an intern who wants to work in Fashion PR to see a brand strategy through from beginning to end, to build up their own contact book for the fashion industry and to understand the workings of a small company.
You will gain experience with regard to PR, fashion shoots, product shoots and how to place product in print and social media.

The graduate should have strong verbal and written communications skills, be proactive and able to meet deadlines. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, driven, creative thinker, with a passion for fashion, who has lots of initiative and is capable of prioritising. 

*This role is on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing Adopt an Intern as a freelance consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you have not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and should therefore not apply for this role.
