Festival Marketing and Engagement Intern with Glasgow Youth Film Festival

The highly regarded and successful Glasgow Youth Film Festival was the first in Europe to be programmed entirely by young people and is a significant event in Scotland’s youth arts scene. The last event saw over 8,000 admission and included a large degree of engagement with diverse and underrepresented communities in Glasgow.

Location: Glasgow 
£7.65 per hour, Part-time for 3-months

Start date: Monday 24 November

Glasgow Youth Film Festival are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work across Glasgow Film’s busy Marketing and Communications and Learning departments to assist in the delivery of our promotional activity and in community engagement for Glasgow Youth Film Festival.

Working as a Festival Marketing and Engagement Assistant your role will include:

  • Copywriting
  • Assisting with the creation of printed and online marketing material
  • Social media
  • Coordinating brochure distribution
  • Working with community groups to encourage them to attend the Festival
  • Assisting with audience analysis
  • Working with GYFF’s Youth Team (aged 15-19) on developing marketing ideas for the Festival
  • Other duties, as required

There will be occasional ad hoc unsociable hours and likely some weekend hours during Festival time. You will accrue TOIL for these hours, which can be taken back as time off.

Requirements

This post would be ideally suited to a graduate with a background in marketing or community arts/engagement. You should have previous experience of working on print and digital marketing campaigns. 


The successful individual will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent interpersonal skills. You will have a keen attention to detail, including strong proofreading skills. You should be competent in IT, specifically working on an Apple Mac. 


You should be energetic, self-motivated and a friendly team player. This role requires an individual who has the ability to work well under pressure over long hours. A passion for film and festivals and an interest in working with young people are expected.
