This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your knowledge of accounting practices with practical experience within a large-scale manufacturing and production environment at Lifescan Scotland. Lifescan are the world leader in blood glucose monitoring systems, and are part of the global Johnson & Johnson family of companies.
Lifescan Scotland has a history of innovation in Inverness. Originally established in 1995 as Inverness Medical Ltd, in 2001 they became part of Lifescan, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson. Their main product range includes the popular OneTouch® brand of blood glucose monitoring systems, which is available globally. They’ve developed diabetes management software, control solutions and lancing devices and, in addition, design and manufacture the specialist test strips that work with many of the meters in the OneTouch® brand line. The Inverness facility is regarded as a centre of excellence for those working in the field of diabetes and with a focus on future development, Lifescan is committed to “creating a world without limits for people with diabetes.”
Lifescan are looking for a Finance Intern. The role of the Finance Intern is to provide support in the maintenance, consolidation and delivery of business financial data and information for the purpose of enabling the organization to make financially sound business decisions.
Responsibilities of this role include:
• Account analysis, reconciliations and maintenance
• Journal entries
• Assists in budget preparation and analysis
• Business partnering participation
• SOX compliance / testing
• Miscellaneous month end closing responsibilities
• External reporting e.eg national statistics
• Provide financial information to global J&J partners
• Departmental expense reporting and analysis
• General financial administration
• Continuous Improvement of departmental procedures
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with a background in finance and/or business. You should have excellent written and oral communication skills plus strong IT skills (Microsoft Office suite). You must have a sound understanding of basic accounting principles, and be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. You will be able to demonstrate that you can handle confidential information in an appropriate manner. You will have strong analytical skills, be a motivated self-starter able to work independently with minimum supervision.

• ERP skills
• Presentation skills
