Graduate Business Support Officer with HITRANS

HITRANS is the statutory regional transport partnership covering Eilean Siar (Western Isles), Orkney, Highland, Moray and most of the Argyll and Bute area.

Location: Inverness

£10 per hour. 25 hours per week (over four to five days a week) for 5 to 6 months
Interviews: 25 March 2015.  Ideal start date: 30 March 2015

HITRANS work with local authorities, the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, HIE, transport operators and other stakeholders to improve transport services and infrastructure in the north of Scotland and on routes to the Highlands and Islands. 

The Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) is seeking an enthusiastic graduate to join their team as a Business Support Officer. Working with HITRANS officers, the successful intern will have an opportunity to work on the following key tasks which will help develop a range of skills in the work environment:
• Stakeholder engagement
• Office administration / management tasks
• Development of business administration and project management practice
• Support HITRANS work in developing EU funding opportunities
• Evaluation of the public transport information projects in which HITRANS is involved, using qualitative and quantitative research skills
• Evaluation and monitoring of work funded by HITRANS through EU / ERDF and Research & Strategy Development Programme
 

Requirements

This post would ideally suit a graduate with a background in business and/or management. You will be skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research and have strong evaluation skills. The ideal candidate will be organised and able to manage their own time effectively to meet deadlines. You will have a strong work ethic and good time keeping.

You should be IT literate with a proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be a confident communicator who thrives both in a team environment and working on their own.
