Focus Games Ltd. is a rapidly growing serious games design company. The company was created in 2004 with offices in London and Glasgow.
Focus Games develop board games and online games for clients mostly in healthcare and life sciences to help them improve their learning, engagement and change management. Many of their games are aimed at nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and healthcare assistants and they cover a range of clinical and care delivery issues. Their largest healthcare client is the NHS. They also make games for use in schools and colleges and for large private sector companies such as McDonald’s.
Focus Games are pioneers in the development and use of serious games and have over 40 game titles in production (mostly board games). They are entering an exciting phase as the company expands and enters new markets in Europe and the USA.

Focus Games now wish to employ a junior graphic designer who will be based in their Glasgow office. In this role your main tasks will be:
• Creative solutions for design of board games (and some HTML5 game apps)
• Creating adverts & promotional emails
• Designing and composing product catalogues
• Working on branding and promotion for trade events
• Designing and building online resources (including the company website and email campaigns)
The ideal intern will be educated to degree level, ideally in graphic design, or similar. Some experience of working in an agency would be an advantage. You will be expert in using Adobe CS product suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and competent with MS office products. You will have experience designing and building websites, knowledge of HTML/HTML5, Java or C# would be beneficial though not essential.
You will be knowledgeable in digital marketing and have experience of creating marketing material. A good level of literacy and communication skills both written and verbal is essential.
You must be able to work as part of a small team in a flexible environment and be confident contributing to ideas and solutions. Experience of working to a brief would be an advantage.
