Focus Games Ltd. is a rapidly growing serious games company. The company was created in 2004 with offices in London and Glasgow. They now wish to employ a graphic designer who will be based in their Glasgow office.
£7.85 per hour
Full-time for 4 months
Focus Games develop board games and online games for clients mostly in healthcare and life sciences to help them improve their learning, engagement and change management. Many of their games are aimed at nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and healthcare assistants and they cover a range of clinical and care delivery issues. Their largest healthcare client is the NHS. They also make games for use in schools and colleges and for large private sector companies such as McDonald’s.
Focus Games are pioneers in the development and use of serious games and have over 36 titles in production, which have been played by over 750,000 people. They are entering an exciting phase as the company expands and enters new markets in Europe and the USA.
Working as a Graphic Designer for Focus Games, your main tasks will be:
• Coming up with creative solutions for designs of board games
• Creating adverts
• Working with on-line campaigners
• Designing and composing game catalogues
• Working on the branding for trade events
• Designing and building online resources (including the company website and email campaigns)
The ideal intern will be educated to degree level, ideally with a background in / experience of graphic design, or similar. You will be competent with Adobe CS5 or CS6 (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and competent with MS office products. You will have experiencing in designing and building websites, knowledge of HTML/HTML5, Java or C# would be beneficial though not essential. You will be knowledgeable in digital marketing and have experience of creating marketing material.
You must be able to work as part of a small team in a flexible environment and be confident contributing to ideas and solutions.
