TownRock Energy is a geothermal energy specialist, the first of its kind in Scotland. Our team apply oil industry exploration techniques to identify areas of geothermal energy potential, and engage entrepreneurial endeavour to create business cases for developing multi-million-pound geothermal energy systems for industrial, commercial and public sector heat off-takers.

The Role

The focus will be on minewater and aquifer geothermal resource evaluation, but during the placement, you will get a taste of everything this young fast-moving company is involved in.

Specifically, we're seeking a confident person who can join the team as a hydrogeologist intern, contributing to the work we do whilst gaining invaluable industry experience amongst a team passionate about the field.

Working alongside the Managing Director and supported by senior geologists, the main tasks will be completing technical hydrogeological and wider subsurface analysis for minewater and HSA geothermal energy project feasibility studies.

This will include:

 

· data acquisition
· research
· modelling
· interpretations with justifications
· presentation in QGIS and InkScape as well as Microsoft Office.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a degree in Hydrogeology, or similar technical discipline.

You will be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people and confident in your ability to contribute ideas to a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail are essential. You will be able to demonstrate that you have strong reporting skills in written form, as well as the engaging presentation of statistical data.
