Marketing and Events Coordinator Intern with Tea Green

Join an innovative and creative events business as a Marketing and Events Coordinator as they host events showcasing independent artists and designers across the country.

Location: Glasgow with some travel to Dundee
£7.85 per hour
Part-time, 20 hours per week for 12 weeks
Ideal start: Start-Mid October 2015

As a Marketing and Events Coordinator your main tasks will be:
• Marketing in run up to the events – including, but not limited to, social media and email marketing 
• Assisting in the operations on the day of events – including set up and take down and social media during the day.
• Press activities – including the writing and distribution of press releases, and development of press list.
• Initial Implementation of monthly newsletter
• Creating content for all marketing platforms
• Various aspects of required research 
• Communication between relevant partners and stakeholders
• General admin associated with the role


About the company

Tea Green was set up in 2014 by Dundee based Jeweller Joanne MacFadyen. Tea Green is led by a desire to strengthen the independent creative community based in Scotland through a programme of inspiring & dynamic pop up events.

Our events provides exhibitors with an opportunity to meet new customers, gain exposure and meet other creative professionals, sharing knowledge and building new networks.

Aiming to host a diverse range of art, design & contemporary crafts through curated events, our key aim is to champion the wealth of independent creative talent based in Scotland in stunning locations, creating unique shopping experiences for our visitors.

In its first year Tea Green has showcased the work of over 100 independent artists & designers in stunning and iconic locations across Scotland, with our last event at Kibble Palace having nearly 5000 visitors.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with a background in Event Management, Art and Design and/or Marketing. You must be a self-motivated individual who can work to tight deadlines and with minimal supervision. You will be happy and disciplined to work from home and still get tasks done.

You must have an understanding of social media marketing and be familiar across multiple online platforms. You should have an interest in and passion for the creative industries. A creative individual, you will ideally have skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create marketing material for both print and online. You must have good organisational skills.

You will be approachable and possess good communication skills. You must be able to attend events and weekend during the month of December.

(This role is on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing Adopt an Intern as a freelance consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you hare not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and should therefore not apply for this role.)
