How did you hear about AAI, and what the process was like?

We found out about Adopt an Intern after winning the Young EDGE Award at the Scottish EDGE finals in 2017 where AAI were one of the partner-organisations.

They were really easy to work with great communication and a very effective service and they found us our Marketing & Business Development Assistant, Lucy, who came to work with us at the end of last year.

How has your intern benefitted the business and what surprised you most about them?

She developed our brand packs to send to potential partner companies we may be working with, as well as wholesale information packs, and loads of other things that I hadn’t thought about doing.

Because she could think outside the box and look at things from the outside in, she just made such a difference.

What would you say to other employers about using graduate internships to find talent?

Do not discount internships. Just because you might think someone doesn’t have years of experience or that they’ve just come out of university or college, it doesn’t mean that they can’t develop ‘on the job’ experience.

When I now think of Lucy, I now think I would definitely take on more interns. Not only does it benefit you as a company, but it also means you’re helping someone else develop and grow their own personal skillsets.

Anything else?

I don’t think so, just a MASSIVE ‘thank you’ to Adopt an Intern for making the employment and intern process so seamless, so easy, so stress-free and I would definitely recommend them.
