£8.45 per hour with bonus potential
Full-time for 12 months with potential for extention

About the Company
Business for Scotland (BfS) is a campaigning business network and an economic and business policy think tank. BfS has a history of developing its talent pool through graduate internships and all five past graduate internees were offered and accepted permanent roles with BfS upon completion of their contract. This role is essentially a marketing, engagement and business development role with an element of event organisation. Your role will involve:
• Social media and membership engagement
• Membership, annual dinner and conference sales
• Upselling membership options to existing members
• Event marketing and organisation coordination including our annual conference and dinner
• Email marketing to members
• Liaison with research and press team on membership surveys and testimonials
• Membership Admin
• Fundraising support and initiatives
• Marketing materials management and purchases such as conference stands leaflets etc
• Input into strategy
The successful applicant will play a key role supporting the BfS 2017/18 campaigns including:
Think again on EU, More Powers for Scotland, Benefit Corporation Tax Credits, Living Wage, Fairness and Equality, Invest for Growth, Sustainability, Innovation and Internationalisation. Business for Scotland maintains a long held support for Scottish independence and EU/Single Market membership.
Full training will be offered, some travel and evening working is required for events.
The ideal candidate intern will have experience in marketing, social media marketing, customer service or sales. Event organisation and specific membership sales experience would be a bonus. You will have excellent spoken and written communication skills. You will be confident in engaging with various stakeholders.
