Our story

Late 2009: Whilst working at the CSPP during the recession, Joy was approached by talented graduates desperate for work experience and willing to work unpaid.
2011: After securing Scottish Government funding to help place an initial 85 paid interns, Joy took on her first colleague. Tim is now our Internship Manager.
Summer 2013: The Scottish Government doubled our funding, allowing us to double our staff and subsequently double the number of paid internships.
2014: We extended our reach, offering recruitment and HR services to cross-sector organisations across the country. The number of hired graduates was rapidly increasing.
Late 2015: Now proud winners of the Customer Focus Award at the Scottish Business Awards, we’re working harder than ever to pave a way into employment for graduates.
Early 2010: Joy contacted CSPP members with an idea of creating paid internship opportunities for graduates. 65 members supported, 6 took on paid interns.
July 2012: Adopt an Intern spun out from the CSPP to become an independent, not-for-profit company with a new board and our very own paid intern.
2013: We ended the year with the placement of our 500th intern and 2 nominations for the Scottish Business Awards. Things were about to get big!
April 2015: We celebrated our 5th Birthday with an Awards Ceremony for our Interns and Employers and announced our 1000th graduate placed.
