Part-time over three months for a total of 240 hours.
Morag Macpherson is a textile artist who creates surface patterns which are digitally printed onto limited edition fabrics, wallpaper, cushions and scarves. She also patchworks her fabrics for wearable art clothing and interior pieces (kimono, wraparound skirts, throws and wall hangings). For more information please visit her website.
Morag collaborates with other artists, sells via stockists and showrooms and works to commission. In 2016 more international business is planned and a focus on fashion is anticipated whilst maintaining Morag's established presence in the interior world.
Morag is looking for a graduate with an interest in textiles to conduct some research and online marketing. You will get hands on experience in branding with possible opportunities for joining Morag on overseas trips (self-funded by intern).
In this role you will:
• Draw up and implement a social media campaign (including use of Pintrest and Instagram)
• Deal with reactive email requests/customer relations professionally
• Build brand loyalty through speaking to customers
• Compile databases of existing and future mailing lists in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Perform online and database research
• Complete any other related tasks as required by the business
**The role is based in Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas/Dumfries but some home-working could be a possibility.
To be successful, you will be educated to degree level, ideally with a background in business and/or marketing. An understanding of business, in the international sector is favourable.
We are looking for graduates with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong research skills. You will be IT literate, with an understanding of the Internet and a strong grasp of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. A strong competency and interest in social media channels and how to implement and maintain these for a business is advantageous.
This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and get on with multiple projects quickly and efficiently. Some evening working may necessary to meet deadlines.
