About the Company

Rufflets St Andrews is widely recognised as one of Scotland’s most critically acclaimed hotels.

This recognition is the result of many years’ care, passion and delivering high levels of customer service. In 1952 the property was purchased and transformed from a private home into an impressive country house hotel. Ownership of Rufflets remains with the same family today, and they continue to put every effort into developing the hotel whilst retaining the original charm and ambience.

Set in 10 acres of award winning gardens on the outskirts of St Andrews, the hotel and grounds provide the idyllic backdrop for relaxing short breaks, inspirational meetings and unforgettable weddings.

The Role

Rufflets is looking for an industry professional to increase the brand exposure locally and increase sales, with particular emphasis on the leisure and golf segments.

The successful candidate will have the following tasks:
• Developing the marketing and sales plan in line with company objectives
• Increasing leisure sales through operators
• Increasing golf sales through specialist operators
• Responsibility for the marketing budget
• Responsibility for Digital Marketing activities

 

With their extensive knowledge of St Andrews and the surrounding area, staff at Rufflets will be able to assist those considering relocating for the post with information and local contacts that would help in finding suitable accommodation.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude and a desire to exceed expectations. You will have previous experience of leading and managing a sales & marketing function, ideally within a hospitality environment. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should have excellent presentational, people management and development skills. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office and have excellent negotiating skills. You should have a strong analytical background, appreciation of luxury goods and high-end hotels, and be able to embrace, promote and drive change. You should have relevant experience of both communicating and driving revenue through the web.

A recognised marketing qualification or relevant industry experience is desirable as well as any previous experience of luxury hospitality and/or travel.
