Salesperson with Adopt an Intern

Adopt an Intern (AAI) was set up in 2010 and specialises in the facilitation of paid internships and permanent jobs for graduates, with employers in all fields across Scotland and beyond.

Location: Scotland (Central-belt), home-based with travel to meet prospective clients
£30k pa – OTE £40k. Experience necessary
Immediate start

Adopt an Intern work with organisations to define suitable positions and then handle the recruitment and shortlisting processes necessary to find the right candidates for those jobs. Nearly 1000 graduate interns have been placed with companies across Scotland on this basis by AAI.

Our small team has handled fast-paced growth over the last five years with Government funding, but are now aiming to become self sustaining, which requires an increase in staffing levels. We now seek to employ a confident communicator with a mature outlook to lead on sales.

Reporting to, and working closely with the CEO, your main duties in this role will be:

• Generating business opportunities through professional, dedicated prospecting and cold-calling
• Supporting and developing the sales strategy
• Creating and working to milestone targets
• Meeting and exceeding all quarterly and annual quotas as agreed with the CEO
• Monitoring the employment market in Scotland and England and making decisions on where best to target clients
• To liaise with Adopt an Intern staff to ensure all parts of the organisation are aware of the current context, and to support the development of promotional activities with up-to-date, accurate market knowledge
• Providing feedback in various formats including reports to board


Requirements

For this post we are not seeking a recent graduate, but someone who has built up a solid foundation of experience in sales, and is therefore able to communicate confidently with all manner of employers across Scotland. The ideal candidate could come from any number of academic disciplines, but will have a successful track record in meeting or exceeding assigned individual targets for the development of new business in a given field. Experienced in the management of staff and capable of a high level of communication, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues facing employers in the current Scottish jobs market.

Good communications skills and the ability to turn relationships into clients are essential.

Candidates must be self-motivated with great attention to detail and have the ability to respond quickly to a range of differing demands. You must be happy to work from home on your own, as well as with other members of the team at regular face-to-face meet-ups. You will need access to your own computer. Flexibility around working hours and times would be advantageous.
