About the Company
Homes for Scotland (www.homesforscotland.com) is the voice of the home building industry in Scotland. Our membership of some 200 organisations ranges from major UK-wide national firms to regional companies and smaller local firms who between them are responsible for approximately 95% of the new homes built for sale every year and a significant proportion of affordable housing.
We are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us for nine months to provide general office support and assist our small, busy Communications and Policy Teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Communications Team with event organisation and communication tasks including media activity support, website management and basic copywriting
- Assisting the Policy Team with research and projects
- Organising meetings
- Membership administration tasks
- General office administration and reception duties
This is an ideal opportunity for someone to grow within an organisation which is at the forefront of tackling the challenges facing one of the country’s most important industries. If you are someone that takes the initiative there will be plenty of scope to develop your skills and knowledge of the sector within a supportive environment.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9 – 5pm, Friday 9 – 4.30pm.
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level and ideally have an interest in housing issues/public affairs.
They must be reliable, articulate, self-motivated with a ‘can do’ approach and prepared to take the initiative with a hands-on, flexible attitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
