About the company

Stirling Council's area lies at the very heart of Scotland. It covers 220,000 hectares from Tyndrum and Crianlarich in the southern highlands to the villages of Killearn and Strathblane in the south west and the former mining villages of Plean, Fallin and Cowie in the east. The 83,000 population splits 50:50 urban to rural, with the urban population centering around Stirling, Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.


The role

Stirling Council is looking for an intern to collate, interpret and input Asbestos Management data into the Stirling Council Asset Management System. Some of the information the graduate will be working with includes Management Asbestos Surveys; Refurbishment Surveys; Re-inspections; Sample Certificates; Works Orders; and Air Monitoring Documentation.

Your main responsibilities are to:
• Review the existing documentation and place the data in a chronological order
• Update associated drawings to collectively present the information
• Upload and input information into the Asset Management Database, including assessment criteria
• Collate remedial actions
• Organise batch information to be presented to the council from the surveying companies
• Develop information within the database to support day to day operations
• Develop Site Specific Asbestos Management Plans for approval
• Any other tasks as required by Stirling Council

The successful candidate will be required to undertake Asbestos Awareness training.



Stirling Council is looking for a graduate with knowledge of property maintenance, statutory building maintenance, building survey processes, ability to interpret design information and building surveys. Knowledge or experience of asset management systems; asbestos management; building surveying capabilities; and/or CAD is highly desirable as well as a driving license.

The analytical individual will have the ability to work with attention to detail, prioritising their own workload and possess good communication (written and verbal) skills. You will be highly organised and effective at time management.
