Cultured Mongrel is the umbrella organisation for the creative practice of Emma Jayne Park: performance, choreography, tuition and project management. The company acts to drive the dance theatre sector as a vehicle for social innovation through using the innate values of hip hop culture to make high quality dance theatre.
£7.85 per hour. Part-time, 20 hours per week for 12 weeks

As an Associate Producer with Cultured Mongrel Dance your main duties will include:
• Tour Booking and Co-ordination
• Ensuring budgets remain on target
• Basic Website Updates
• Updating and maintaining relevant social media
• Sourcing Potential Funds
• Application Writing in partnership with the Artistic Director
(This role is on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing Adopt an Intern as a freelance/consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you are not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and therefore will not be considered for this role.)
Cultured Mongrel are looking for a pro-active intern who is organised, articulate, meticulous and has a genuine interest in dance or theatre. The ideal graduate will have a background in arts or event management, business or related admin practices.
You should have great communication skills: face to face, telephone and online, alongside strong coordination skills/ schedule management. You will have strong IT skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word/ Excel. An understanding of budget management (recording income and expenditure) would be beneficial.
You will have an excellent understanding of written English, for marketing/ social media purposes, alongside a strong ability to record evidence/ figures in an easy to read manner.
The successful intern will be a motivated creative thinker who has the ability to problem solve and find solutions.
An understanding of social media platforms (predominantly Facebook and Twitter), an interest in developing new strategies to communicate with people and an interest in Social Innovation would be favourable.
