Neurocentrx Pharma Ltd., is an exciting new collaborative biotech company based in Edinburgh. Their major focus is in developing medicines to alleviate severe and chronic neuropathic pain experienced by cancer patients.
Location: Edinburgh, potential for some home-work
£7.85 per hour. 2-3 days per week for 12-16 weeks

As a Communications and Marketing Executive the successful intern’s input will be in-part Strategic but mostly Tactical. The intern’s objectives will be to help us grow the business through a number of routes that will help to generate sales, to identify new product opportunities, to build their clinical network and identify potential collaborators and trial sites as well as potential funding possibilities.
To do this the candidate will help Neurocentrx Pharma Ltd to select, buy and build a CRM database and start to populate it with information. The candidate will also have to course new contacts to add to this database and info on their expertise and interests.
They will help Neurocentrx Pharma Ltd to run short marketing surveys to the clinical community with particular societies and identify contact lists that are available to buy or have access to as well as helping identify and plan conferences and other marketing events like focus groups.
The ideal candidate will be IT savvy with a background in/knowledge further developing websites and using social media for business. A creative and confident individual would do well in this environment. Any previous experience with tools such as Videoscribe and Prezi will be highly regarded.
The candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally with a background in science and/or marketing and communications. Some experience of the healthcare industry would be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, as well as the drive to progress quickly through tasks are absolutely essential. The candidate may have to speak with busy clinicians in a confident and friendly manner and engage with them to gain information. You will be confident on using various forms of communication, including telephone.
The candidate must understand that there are many small tasks that need to be done in developing a marketing strategy and must understand that the building blocks are important to get right especially with respect to CRM database needs. Some of this will involve a lot of web searching time initially so candidates with patience and research skills will be highly regarded.
