About the Charity
Cash for Kids is the longest running broadcast children’s charity in Scotland and has been operational for over 30 years. Our mission is to respond to the needs of children in our local communities experiencing high levels of poverty and neglect all year round with particular emphasis on Christmas and School holidays, when children are known to be at their most vulnerable
In parts of Glasgow the figure is as high as 1 in 2 children who are living in unimaginable conditions; without enough food, clothing and heating.
We work in partnership with Social Work Departments, the NHS and other community based groups who are able to identify the most vulnerable children in need of additional support which allows us to deliver help via our grant making process.
Using the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation to identify the areas that require our support the most this enables us to target key locations where we can then source groups that we can support or work in partnership with.
Our relationship with local authorities, social work, education departments and other key agencies ensures that we reach as many families as possible. When distributing funds to groups we have a special grants sub-committee made up of Trustees, Radio Clyde staff, the Cash for Kids Regional Manager and other external parties. This enables all grant applications that fit the criteria to be considered in a measured impartial way, before being taken to the board for final clearance.
Radio Clyde Cash for Kids are looking to recruit a Digital and Social Media Internship/ Information Analyst to co-ordinate all the social media activity within the charity as well as assisting with our major donor research.
As a member of our small but friendly team, we are looking for a driven Social Media Specialist to attract and interact with existing and prospective corporates, listeners of the radio station, local communities and networks users.
The goal is to gradually achieve donor engagement and interaction, website traffic and revenue by strategically feeding information on where Cash for Kids money is spent and the difference they can make as a donor to local children.
Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the charity’s social content
Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
Collaborate with other departments (marketing, content, other cash for kids offices etc) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
Researching potential philanthropists and funders who’s giving priorities align with the organisation’s
Working on any ad hoc requests as required
The ideal candidate will have knowledge in analysing data, researching and utilising Social Media. We require an individual that is flexible and comfortable working in an environment which is fast paced and noisy; no two days at Cash for Kids are the same!
The applicants should have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Attention to detail is essential.
