They are working in jobs for which they are overqualified. They have gained their degree, are highly skilled and qualified, but need the opportunity to put those skills into practice.  They can't get a job without experience, but they can't get experience without a job. 

The latest statistics for the UK show that 3.1% of graduates and 2.3% of postgraduates are unemployed, with these percentages even higher for women, people from different ethnic groups, and people identifying as having a disability. At AAI we advocate transparent and fair recruitment procedures and we actively support equal opportunities with the aim of real social change.

That's where paid graduate internships come in.

Graduate Interns will join you to complete a specific, time-limited project.  There is no commitment to giving your intern a permanent job after their internship - 74% of graduate interns will go directly into permanent work by virtue of gaining the experience they need to become more employable.

We set up the first ever paid graduate internship programme for Scottish Government - we now recruit for Abellio, Diageo, Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Council on Archives.

Over 58% of our applicants are female, and 38% are the first person in their family to go to university. We have a deep reach to graduates, post-graduates and returners. Since 2010 we have built a fair and transparent model which enables open access to opportunities for all.
