Launched in September 2013, Hope Street Mag are a new business with big aspirations. The magazine focuses upon high fashion and is sold in 21 countries worldwide in retailers including WH Smiths and Selfridges.
£6.31 per hour. 20 hours per week for 3 months.
The HOPE STREET magazine team are looking for a fashion Writer/ Editorial assistant, three days per week to work from their city centre office. This is an amazing chance to work for Scotland's first International Fashion magazine HOPE ST. Working as a Fashion Writer/ Editorial Assistant you will carry out the following tasks:
- Sourcing Images for stories
- Writing online stories on fashion, pop culture and art
- Proof reading articles
- Working with the Editor on contacting production locations
- Arranging meetings and acting as a PA for the Editor when necessary
- Emailing media packs to advertisers
- Mailing out magazines
- Office duties
The ideal candidate will be creative and hardworking with a background in English or Journalism. A strong writer, you will have an extensive knowledge of past and present pop culture and of international modern artists. Knowledge or interest in the fashion industry (particularly high fashion and luxury markets) and a passion for niche fashion magazines will be essential for this role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to produce ideas and concepts using your own initiative are essential for this role. A strong team player, you will also be resourceful and able to work very well independently using your own initiative. Access to their own computer or laptop will be essential.
Please note, HOPE STREET magazine will require all interview attendees to bring examples of their written work with them.
