The Role

As part of the ongoing drive to achieve and maintain the best possible standards, FLF are currently investing in staff training and development to ensure robust practices are embedded for GDPR compliance.

To support this work they are now seeking to recruit a graduate intern for a 5-month internship. The primary aim of the work is to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence of client facing staff, in order to maintain robust data handling processes. The role will also support management to develop and implement a best practice procedure for short-term Housing Support client data handling.

As a successful applicant, your main tasks will be:

• Work with client facing staff to inform them of the new GDPR Principles and Practice.
• Using the current data mapping tool, undertake data mapping sessions with staff team members and collate this information for review and assessment.
• Work with management and key Frontline staff to review and streamline end to end data handling processes for compliance through to data storage.
• Develop an easy-read guide and/or flowchart which supports staff to maintain best practice over the longer term.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level. The intern will have the ability to work with attention to detail and will handle confidential information with discretion.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

• A formal qualification in a relevant discipline. This will have covered data and information management in a business setting.
• The ability and confidence to work with staff teams which are newly embarking on applying best practice data management processes.
• A general understanding of GDPR legislation and an interest in proportionately applying the legislation within a social care setting.
• Competency in administration and applying practical methods/skills for data handling and management.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into easily accessible guidance
• Excellent communications skills
• Willingness to learn and develop one’s own and others practice in a supportive way.
• Commitment to work to plan and agreed timescales

This is a great opportunity for a graduate or returner who has experience handling information and carrying out research. Candidates who have handled qualitative research in the past for an academic project should have no trouble managing database information for Frontline Fife's efforts to implement GDPR standards.
