Thank you for your interest in Adopt an Intern’s project into inclusive employment for disabled graduates!
The following survey is designed to gather your thoughts and experiences of the recruitment process and being employed as a disabled graduate.
Please note that we are only looking for responses from people who hold a degree-level qualification that consider themselves to be disabled or have a long-term health condition, and who are UK or EU nationals currently living in the UK.
The survey should take 5-10 minutes at most to complete, and is completely anonymous. Thank you again for taking the time to complete this survey!
Please let us know if you require this survey in another format. You can contact us at email@example.com
During our 7 years of experience placing graduates in internships, AAI noticed a recurring problem when placing graduates who disclosed an impairment: anxiety in both employers and the graduates themselves surrounding the impact of what it means to employ a disabled person.
After observing many situations in which the topic of disability has been the elephant in the interview room, we have employed our very own intern to focus in on the barriers facing disabled graduates as they look for work. The aim of this project is to create a resource that will help both employers and disabled graduates in the recruitment process.
But first we need to know your thoughts on the likely problems surrounding the employment of disabled graduates and any concerns and/or experiences you may have had.
Our research is split into two parts:
1) the survey that follows, which is completely anonymous and gives you the opportunity to give us your honest thoughts on some of the trickiest issues;
2) a series of interviews and group discussions, where we can gather more in-depth opinions about the wider problems experienced by employers and disabled graduates.
If you are interested in helping us with the second part of our research, there is a link at the end of this survey to a page where you can fill out your contact details. Please note that your contact details are in no way linked to the answers you provide in this survey, which will remain completely anonymous.
