The Role

Arrayjet is seeking to employ a Laboratory Application Scientist to support its activities in microarray production and custom printing services. Arrayjet has over ten years of experience in all aspects of microarray technology and recently diversified to offer custom microarray printing and assay development services (Arrayjet Advance) to complement our established range of inkjet microarrayers.

As a Laboratory Application Scientist, you will provide technical support to enable our research and product development to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

The role is largely laboratory-oriented and you will be part of a dynamic team providing microarray services for an international customer base. Your attention to detail will ensure that work is consistently a high standard, and your interpersonal skills will make you an important member of a growing team.

Job duties include but are not limited to: Performing all technical aspects of Arrayjet Advance services from the preparation of samples and the operation of microarrayers, through to the analysis and presentation of experimental data. The role will involve communicating with a diverse range of customers, as well as the writing of customer-facing protocols and reports, and presentations as required.

 

Requirements

Arrayjet is looking for diligent and proactive individuals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

· Degree in life sciences, biotechnology or related field

· Attention to detail and high accuracy

· Excellent communication skills

· Excel and statistical analysis

· Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Essential:
· Manual dexterity for handling fine equipment
· Knowledge and experience of working in a lab environment
· Good lab practice
· Ability to adhere to health and safety procedures
· Planning and organisational skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
· Prioritisation and decision-making skills

Desirable:
· Previous experience of good research practices and techniques
· Confident use of laboratory equipment


The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly-motivated and creative individual with a willingness to learn and a positive attitude to work. Previous laboratory experience in a related field would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
