The Role

Cornerstone is looking for a Marketing and Communications Intern to join their Central Team in Glasgow. You will work on a variety of projects and campaigns to support their marketing effort reaching out to their audience, colleagues, stakeholders and other outside agencies.

Alongside the marketing side of this role, you will also be involved in Cornerstone’s event planning including marketing campaigns, attending these events to provide live updates, and devising an annual events calendar.

The ideal person will have a keen interest for expanding their skillsets, and a desire to grow within a multi-award winning Scottish charity. This role has many responsibilities which are outlined in the Role Profile. However, your main activities will include:

• Social Media Management
• Event Planning

Requirements

Ideally, Cornerstone would like a graduate with a Communications, Marketing, Event Planning or Digital Media degree. However, Cornerstone will employ on key values so these qualifications are not essential if the right candidate can demonstrate the following values: Caring, customer-focused, professional and pioneering.

The marketing team is currently made up of the Marketing and Communications Lead and Graphic Designer so it is essential that you can work in a small team but also with a wide range of people, as service visits and networking is part of this role. Also, due to the small size of team, Cornerstone is looking for someone who is hard-working and not afraid to take on multiple activities whilst being able to meet deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be outgoing, creative and can achieve a balance between getting work done but also socialising with the team and wider organisation.

The following are essential for the role:

• Ability to produce high quality accurate work.
• Ability to work on own initiative using existing guidance, policies and procedures with minimum supervision on marketing and communications related matters.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Extensive experience of office-related computer packages (e.g. word processing/spreadsheets etc.)
• Proven track record of co-ordinating administrative tasks.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Initiative.
• Ability to be creative and bring new ideas for consideration to improve working practices
• ‘Can do’ attitude.
• Flexibility.

It would be great if you also had:

• Experience of Care Standards and SSSC requirements regarding people matters.
• Experience of working in the social care or the third sector.
