The Scottish London Business Network is an organisation created to facilitate greater business communication and connectivity between Scotland and London. Our mission is to identify and capitalise on opportunities for innovative Scottish businesses in London and from there to global markets.
ScottishLondon www.scottishlondon.com is a membership organisation which brings together Scots involved in senior roles in the London business community at monthly events.
ScottishLondon require a Marketing Intern. The role will involve working directly with serial entrepreneur, and founder of this business, Russell Dalgleish, to:
• define and implement a strategy to identify and raise awareness of ScottishLondon and Adopt-An-Intern to our target audience in London
• make use of social media platforms such as Linkedin to capture contact details for targets
• use GrowthHacking techniques (my team will provide training) to raise awareness of ScottishLondon and Adopt-An-Intern in the minds of targets
• generate unique content regarding business successes in Scotland and distribute content - to raise awareness
• identify potential partners for us
• come up with new ideas to enhance what we are doing
*This position is home-based with regular meetings which will be held in Scotland's central belt.
This role is advertised on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing as a freelance consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you have not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and should therefore not apply for this role.
The ideal intern will be educated to degree level with a background in media, business development and/or digital marketing, and regardless of which, will have a strong interest in marketing. You will have excellent IT skills, with previous experience of using a CMS system to update web content. You will be highly organised, able to manage your own time and work on your own initiative. An ability to communicate the tone of a brand in a way that always reflects its core values is essential for this role. You should be a creative thinker with a strong attention to detail.
You should be a confident communicator with outstanding written skills. A candidate with previous copywriting skills or experience of delivering a practical digital marketing plan would be highly favourable.
