Roads Network Management Intern with Stirling Council

£8.00 per hour
Full-time, 37 hours per week for 6 - 12 months

As one of the local authorities at the heart of Scotland, Stirling Council is looking to recruit a graduate as a Network Management Intern to assist with Service delivery of the functions covered by the Network Management Team and provide learning support and industry experience.


The Network Management Team consists of 8 team members and covers Road Safety, Traffic Management, Coordination of all Roadworks & Maintenance of the Street Gazetteer and List of Public Roads. This is an excellent opportunity to gain good all round experience through providing support to the team.

Roles and responsibilities will include:
• Support in the preparation of CAD drawings for traffic Management and Road Safety scheme design
• Use Symology within NRSWA function
• Processing traffic signal applications and road closure applications
• Preparation of plans for Traffic Regulation Orders
• Assisting the Network Management Team project and Customer Service delivery
• Any other tasks as required to be completed



Although a degree is not essential, the ideal candidate will have a background in/knowledge of Civil Engineering or Transport Planning.  A confident self-starter, you will have experience in and be competent using AutoCAD. 

Stirling Council is looking for an Intern who is highly-organised, shows initiative and is able to work to deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and strong IT skills. You will have a professional and discrete attitude and will be able to work well within a team.

A full driving license is desirable.
