Scottish Renewables is looking for an Administrative Officer to join their Business Services Team. A member-led trade body, Scottish Renewables represent around 250 organisations working across a wide range of renewable energy technologies in Scotland and around the world. Their members deliver low-carbon energy, investment and jobs, providing the bedrock to the new, smart, green economy. Scottish Renewables' mission is to grow Scotland’s renewable energy sector and sustain its position at the forefront of the global clean energy industry.
You will be the main contact for staff, members and external enquires. The Business Services team is responsible for the delivery and management of several essential business functions, including financial management and reporting, ICT systems, maintaining membership and marketing database, administration of HR processes, and management of office space, systems and suppliers. This role also provides administrative and diary assistance to the Chief Executive.
These services are essential to the proper functioning of other teams and the organisation, and central to the delivery of good customer service to members and other clients.
To effectively contribute to the role as Administrative Officer, you must have experience of working in an administrative role within a busy office, with the ability to work under pressure. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills subject to the customer-facing nature of the role.
Ideally, you will have:
• Experience working in an office environment with the ability to work under pressure
• A basic knowledge of finance processes, including credit control, purchase and sales ledgers
• Some Sage 50 experience
• A good working knowledge of all Office packages
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with face-to-face and telephone enquiries in a courteous and patient manner
• An open mind and a can-do attitude. You are a flexible, team player who can work on your own initiative
• Strong self-motivation and are keen to develop your existing skills
• Organised and able to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of the need for accuracy at all times
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An interest in and passion for the renewable energy sector
