Software Developer with Cognitive Geology

Cognitive Geology is building the next generation of software for the petroleum industry.

Location: Edinburgh
£19-25K pro rata 3-6 months (with potential for permanent role, and salary increase after 6 months)
Ideal start: 3 August

Cognitive Geology was founded to redress the gap between vendor-designed software and the investment decision requirements of oil companies. Cognitive Geology is building technology which targets the pain points of the oil industry, using cognitive processing AI to mitigate investment risks in a new and disruptive fashion.

Working as a Software Developer, your main responsibilities will be:

· Contribute to the development of software products

· Product design and analysis with team

· Automated and manual testing

At the completion of the 3-6 month contract, it is the intention to be able to convert the contract over to a permanent, full-time position, with a competitive share option scheme, in Scotland’s next major software vendor.



The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computing or a related discipline. You will have experience of using Windows software development using C# or C++. You will have knowledge of Object Oriented programming, test-driven development, and Agile methodology. You will be able to demonstrate strong ability in Maths and Science with a keen interest in modelling the real world. Experience of UI Test Automation would be a bonus
