Textile and Design Technician with BeYonder Ltd

The Role

Supported by experienced team members, the individual will be working on client project work; cutting, manufacturing, and trimming textile-based products. Items produced will range from sample toiles to high-quality samples. By the end of the internship, the individual will be capable of working unsupervised to produce short manufacturing runs for client orders.


The ideal candidate will have the equivalent of SCQF level 9, or higher, from a textile-based degree course. As well as the desirable technical skills below, a collaborative attitude to working with other creative team members must be an integral part of your make-up. women.png

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

•Previous experience working on industrial sewing machines including Lockstitch, Overlocker, and Coverstitch
•Pattern cutting skills are desirable
•The ability to work efficiently and effectively so that production throughput is maximised
•Being conversant with various seam widths and their utilisation
•Experience in sewing heavy duty fabric would be an advantage but is not essential
•Good at working to deadlines
•Able to quality check your work and to adhere to required quality procedures
•A keen eye for detail and quality is essential
•Takes ownership of own workflow
•Being reliable and practical
•Communicate effectively
•Ability to follow health and safety policies
